BVA is proud to announce that Yotpo has awarded us the 2019 Excellence Award… for the second year in a row! But...hey, who’s counting anyways? We’re just proud to continue to call Yotpo one of our favorite partners.

Working hand-in-hand with Yotpo over the years, we’ve collaborated on countless projects and collectively helped grow and scale some of the top direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands in the space. In 2019, we had the opportunity to create something truly unique together while working on UpWest’s digital storefront and commerce strategy.

UpWest, a new lifestyle spinoff brand by Express, Inc., is all about providing comfort for the mind, body, and spirit. They do this through their product catalog as well as the give-back initiatives they support.

When UpWest approached our team at BVA to build their new Shopify Plus storefront, they were clear that one of their main goals was to give customers a sense of calmness when they landed on the Upwest site. Their desire was to deliver a "content-meets-commerce" experience because they wanted to tell stories and communicate a point of view on a lifestyle, rather than being just another site for mindless transactions.

In order to achieve this vision, we rolled up our sleeves and set out to push the boundaries of what the Shopify Plus platform can do in terms of content. We heavily customized the blog tool, and thoughtfully designed templates that seamlessly integrated the path to purchase within editorialized content.

As with most DTC brands, creating a space for community and user-generated content (UGC) is essential. Therefore, we styled Yotpo reviews to adopt the brand's visual language and blend seamlessly into the experience. We also created "The Compass Club," UpWest's new rewards program, powered by Yotpo/Swell.

The result? A new UpWest storefront that launched just in time for the 2019 holidays and sets a new standard for experiential commerce within the DTC space.

In addition to the UpWest project, we’ve implemented Yotpo for countless merchants, including MVMT, UNTUCKit, and Chubbies, giving us endless examples of the value of their service offerings and partnership. We always recommend Yotpo’s simplicity, customer support, and ability to add another level of value to the customer experience.
